The Sea-X is a large fixed blade designed by Diez Knives, carrying the same rugged design language found in the Ape-X and Tanto-X. With a Viking-inspired sheepsfoot profile and a substantial 13.5" blade, this is a heavy-duty chopper and field knife built for campers and outdoor users who need serious cutting power.
Blade
The 13.5" sheepsfoot blade is made from SKS51, a Japanese high-carbon tool steel originally developed for industrial cutting tools and saw blades that endure repeated impact. Unlike plain high-carbon steels such as SK85, SKS51 is alloyed with nickel and chromium, giving it added toughness and shock resistance so it holds up under heavy chopping without chipping. The copper washed finish adds a layer of corrosion resistance while giving the blade a distinct weathered look. At .26" thick, this blade is built for hard use, and the sheepsfoot profile keeps the tip controlled for precise slicing and push cuts while reducing the risk of accidental punctures.
Handle
The handle is wrapped in Micarta, a resin-impregnated linen or canvas composite known for its durability and secure grip, even when wet. At 37oz overall, the Sea-X carries significant heft that balances out the long blade for chopping tasks.
Carry
The Sea-X ships with an OD Green Kydex sheath, a rigid polymer that offers reliable retention and quick blade access. As a fixed blade, there is no lock mechanism - the tang runs the full length of the handle for strength. The sheath is built for belt or strap carry, suited to camp or trail use where the knife needs to stay secure but ready.
