Blade

The 9.15" bowie blade is made from SK85 high-carbon steel, finished with a dark wash on part of the blade and satin on the rest for a two-tone look. SK85 is a simple, high-carbon steel that takes a sharp edge easily and holds up well under hard use, though it requires basic maintenance to prevent corrosion. At .189" thick, the blade has the backbone needed for chopping through brush and wood.

Handle

Black textured G-10 scales cover the handle, with green liners adding a contrasting detail along the edges. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate prized for its durability, grip, and resistance to moisture. At 23.6oz, this knife has substantial heft suited to chopping and heavy-duty tasks.

Carry

The V-44B ships with an OD green Kydex sheath, a rigid polymer that offers solid retention and protection for a blade this size.
