SK85 Fixed Blade with Micarta Handles

The Work Tuff Gear V-44B is a large bowie-style fixed blade built for heavy field use and anyone who wants serious presence and cutting power in a working knife. With a blade over nine inches long, this is a camp and chopping tool first.

Blade

The 9.15" bowie blade is made from SK85 high-carbon steel, finished with a dark wash that helps resist fingerprints and adds some corrosion resistance over a bare polish. SK85 is a high-carbon steel known for holding a hard, durable edge and taking an aggressive bite out of wood or rope. At 0.189" thick, the blade has the mass to handle chopping work without flexing.

Handle

The handle is natural canvas Micarta, a material made from linen or canvas cloth layered with resin and compressed under heat. It is tough, stable in wet conditions, and develops a smooth, grippy texture with use. Overall weight comes in at 23.6oz, giving the knife enough heft to move through material with momentum.

Carry

The V-44B comes with an OD Green Kydex sheath, a rigid polymer that offers solid retention and quick, consistent draws. No lock mechanism applies here since this is a fixed blade - the tang and handle are one solid piece. The sheath is built for belt or drop-leg carry depending on your setup.
