The Work Tuff Gear V-44B is a large bowie-style fixed blade built for serious cutting tasks, from camp chores to bushcraft work that demands a long, heavy blade. Its size and weight make it a good fit for users who want a knife capable of chopping as well as slicing.

Blade

The 9.15" bowie blade is made from SK85 high-carbon steel at a thickness of .189". SK85 is a Japanese carbon steel that takes a very sharp edge and holds it well, with the toughness to stand up to heavy use, though it requires basic maintenance to resist corrosion. The hand rub APO finish gives the blade a clean, matte look while reducing reflectivity in the field.

Handle

The handle is built from natural canvas Micarta, a composite made by compressing layers of linen or canvas fabric with resin under heat and pressure. Micarta is prized for its durability and the way its texture improves with wear, offering a secure grip even when wet. At 23.6oz overall, this is a substantial knife with real presence in hand.

Carry

The V-44B ships with a black Kydex sheath, a rigid polymer that offers strong retention and resists wear better than leather. The sheath is built for belt or drop-leg carry, keeping a blade of this length secure and accessible in the field.
