The WTG V-44B is a large bowie-style fixed blade from Work Tuff Gear, built for users who want a serious camp and field knife with substantial presence. With a 9.15" blade and full-size proportions, this is a knife suited to heavy chopping, batoning, and general outdoor cutting tasks.

Blade

The 9.15" bowie blade is made from SK85 carbon steel at .189" thick, finished with a dark wash on the flats and satin along the bevels for a two-tone look. SK85 is a high-carbon steel known for holding a hard, durable edge and taking impact well, making it a solid choice for chopping-oriented blades. The bowie profile offers a strong clip point tip along with a long cutting edge for slicing through brush or materials in the field.

Handle

The handle is natural canvas Micarta, a composite made from layers of linen or canvas fabric soaked in resin and compressed under heat. Micarta is valued for its durability, stable grip even when wet, and the way it develops texture and character with use. At 23.6oz overall, this knife has real heft that matches its chopping capability.

Carry

The V-44B ships with an OD green Kydex sheath, a rigid polymer that offers secure retention and resists moisture and wear better than leather. The sheath is built for belt or lashing carry, keeping this large blade accessible in the field.
