SK85 Fixed Blade with Micarta Handles

The Work Tuff Gear V-44B is a full-size bowie built for serious camp and outdoor work. With a 9.15" blade and a substantial 23.6oz weight, this knife is sized for chopping, clearing brush, and other heavy field tasks where a smaller blade falls short.

Blade

The 9.15" bowie blade is made from SK85 carbon steel, a high-carbon steel known for holding a sharp edge and taking abuse without chipping. At .189" thick, the blade has the mass needed for chopping while the classic bowie profile delivers a strong tip and a long cutting edge. The dark washed finish gives the blade a mottled, low-reflective look while also helping mask the patina that naturally develops on carbon steel over time.

Handle

The handle is wrapped in OD Green burlap Micarta, a composite made by resin-impregnating layers of burlap fabric under heat and pressure. Micarta is prized for its durable, grippy texture that only improves when wet, making it a reliable choice for hard outdoor use.

Carry

This fixed blade has no lock mechanism since the blade and handle are a single, solid piece of steel. It ships with a black Kydex sheath, a rigid polymer that offers reliable retention and resists wear, suited for belt or drop-leg carry in the field.
