The Benchmade PSK 593, short for Personal Survival Kit, is a hard use folder built for camp chores and the day things go sideways. It carries a 3.45 inch drop point on .110 inch stock, 8.4 inches open and 4.95 closed, on full liners with a palm-filling handle. At the heel of the blade sits a dedicated striking choil for throwing sparks off a ferro rod, so your fire starter and your knife work together. Every PSK is made in Oregon City and backed by Benchmade lifetime LifeSharp service.
How Does the PSK AXIS Assist Work?
Start the blade with the thumb stud and a spring takes it the rest of the way open, fast and with either hand. The AXIS Lock then holds it, and a pull of the bar closes it. An integrated spine safety adds a second layer of security on top of the lock. For carriers who want speed outdoors but cannot or do not want to carry an automatic, the assisted PSK is the answer.

The original PSKs run Cerakote coated CPM MagnaCut, which is tough, holds an edge, and resists rust. The 593BK-01 pairs black G10 with carbon fiber bolsters, and the 593BK pairs grey G10 with OD green, both around 5.3 ounces. The lighter 593GY-02 drops to 4.48 ounces with Storm Gray Grivory, Tempest Gray bolsters, and a gunmetal Cerakote Elmax blade, a powder stainless with a strong mix of wear resistance and toughness.
