Hitch & Timber began with Michael Locke, a film dolly grip on shows like House of Cards, cutting leather pocket organizers for the tools he carried on set because nothing on the market did the job. In 2020 Locke and his wife Kalynn took Hitch and Timber full time, moved from Maryland to Colorado, and kept building the gear they carry themselves.
The Runt 2.0 is the flagship EDC pocket organizer, a double leather slip that corrals a small folding knife, a slim light, and a pocket pen into one clean draw. It is sized for knives like a Buck 55, a Benchmade Proper, or a Swiss Army Pioneer, lights under about .78 inch in diameter, and pens like a Fisher Space Pen. The Runt 2.0 XL scales up for a Benchmade Bugout, a Small Sebenza, or a Leatherman Skeletool alongside an Olight S2 class flashlight.
The smaller pieces wrap one knife and keep it off your keys. The Pocket Runt pairs a knife with a pocket pen on a Mil-Spec elastic loop and comes cut to fit Cadet, Pioneer, and Farmer sized Swiss Army knives. The Farmer Carrier is a grommeted slip built around the Swiss Army Farmer, and the EDC Pocket Slip takes the same grommet approach for a small tool. All of them suit the slipjoints and Alox patterns in our traditional knives department, where clipless carry is the whole point.
Every leather piece is cut, stitched, and burnished by hand in the Colorado Springs shop from American tanned full grain hides. Leathers run English Tan, Brown Nut, Black, and Crazy Horse, and each one builds its own patina the longer you carry it. If your knife deserves better than loose change and keys, this is the fix.
