Allen Surls is a knifemaker in Georgia building custom knives with a unique, rustic style and top tier quality. He began his knifemaking journey in 2012, and having always been good with his hands, making knives was a natural fit, allowing him to quit his job and make knives full time in 2014. Surls has learned from some of the greats in the knife industry such as Scott Davidson, Andy Roy, Jim Merritt, John Cohea and more, who have helped him find a style all his own.
Surls captures a frontier style and uses a lot of natural materials blended gracefully into modern components for a knife with the soul of the old west but the performance of a modern blade. Our current selection runs deep on the Wedowee family, with the Lil Wedowee and Wedowee Vegas in Damascus wearing snakewood, Sambar stag, and vintage Westinghouse micarta spacers, alongside the Apalachee, Stekoa XL, Mini Satilla, Mulberry, and one-off custom integrals, each named for the rivers and creeks of Surls country. Every knife is a one-of-a-kind build, so the exact fixed blade photographed is the exact knife you receive. Your W.A. Surls knife will keep up with anything else on the market while having a stunning artistic style that will make it a generational keepsake.
