Surls is a respected American knifemaker known for his traditional designs and high-quality craftsmanship. Blade
The 5.5" drop point blade uses 80CrV2 steel at 0.156" thick. 80CrV2 is a carbon steel known for its toughness and ability to take a very sharp edge. The flat grind makes it suitable for slicing tasks while maintaining strength for batoning and other heavy-duty work. The antiqued finish protects against corrosion while highlighting the steel's natural patina.
Handle
Sambar stag scales are fitted to the full tang with bronze and stainless steel guard. Sambar stag is a traditional handle material prized for its durability and natural beauty. The stag scales provide a secure, comfortable grip even in wet conditions. At 9.81oz, the knife has substantial weight for chopping tasks.
Carry
No sheath is included with this knife. The full tang extends through the handle with an exposed pommel that can be used as a light hammer. The drop point blade shape is versatile for camping, hunting, and bushcraft tasks.
