Cold Steel Master Hunter
The Master Hunter is Cold Steel's answer to what a dedicated hunting fixed blade should be: broad enough to move through hide efficiently, sharp enough to handle precision work around joints and organs, and tough enough to break down big game without complaint.
The 4.5" drop point blade runs a continuous curve from heel to tip—no belly interruptions, just smooth slicing geometry optimized for skinning and field dressing. The flat grind creates a thin cutting edge that glides through connective tissue while the 3/16" spine provides the backbone for prying through rib cages and pelvic bones on larger animals.
Two steel options cover different priorities. The VG-10 San Mai III version sandwiches a hard VG-10 core between softer stainless outer layers—excellent edge retention with built-in toughness and easy field sharpening. The CPM 3V upgrade delivers one of the best combinations of edge retention and impact resistance available in any hunting knife, period. Both arrive hand-honed to surgical sharpness.
The Kray-Ex handle earns its place in the field. The deeply checkered surface maintains grip when your hands are cold, wet, bloody, or all three. The shock-absorbent material reduces fatigue during extended processing sessions and won't rot, crack, or mildew regardless of conditions.
Ships with a Secure-Ex sheath compatible with any belt or pack configuration.
