Corey Dunlap Knives is the work of Corey Dunlap, a Phoenix bladesmith whose career with blades spans more than two decades. Before he ever forged a knife, Dunlap trained at the Arizona Culinary Institute and cooked in high-end kitchens, then spent roughly a decade at a shop specializing in imported Japanese cutlery, where he sharpened tens of thousands of knives on traditional waterstones and built a reputation for precision and a real understanding of how a blade performs.
That sharpening background is the foundation of everything he makes. In 2017 he made his first knife under ABS Master Bladesmith Ray Rybar, fell hard for the craft, and made the leap to full-time knifemaking in 2022. A member of the American Bladesmith Society, he brings a sharpener's eye for geometry, metallurgy, and edge behavior to high-performance kitchen knives built in the Japanese tradition, finished with clean lines and natural handle materials. The result favors timeless design over trend.
