The Biggest Gift Under the Tree
The Jack o'Diamonds is Pete Winkler's full-sized Bowie—8" of 52100 bearing steel ground to 0.192" thick. Originally developed for ball bearings in 1905, 52100 has earned its place in the knife world through exceptional toughness and fine-grained carbide structure that takes a keen edge without the brittleness you'd expect at high hardness. This is a blade built for hard use, from camp chores to processing big game, backed by hand-cut filework along the spine.
Desert Ironwood handles are the real showstopper. This Sonoran Desert hardwood is dense enough to sink in water, polishes to a near-metallic luster, and displays figure patterns ranging from subtle waves to dramatic black striations. Black G-10 bolsters add structural reinforcement where the handle meets the blade, while brass pins bring classic warmth to the aesthetic. At 11.25oz with a 4.5" handle, it carries forward of neutral—exactly where you want the weight in a working Bowie. Leather sheath included.
