The Freyja from Darlington Edgecraft is a handmade fixed blade built for collectors and users who appreciate fine materials and careful construction. This piece features a tapered A2 blade with a convex grind, paired with a Thuya Burl handle accented by white and blue G-10 pinstripes and black micarta liners.
Blade
The 3.75" drop point blade is forged from A2 tool steel with a hammered finish and a tapered convex grind. A2 is prized by custom makers for its toughness and stability during heat treatment, holding a durable edge while resisting chipping better than many high-carbon alternatives. The convex grind adds strength behind the edge while still slicing efficiently, and the taper from spine to tip helps balance the knife in hand.
Handle
The handle is crafted from Thuya burl, a dense, richly grained wood harvested from the root burl of the Thuya tree. Black Micarta liners sit beneath the wood scales, adding structure and a subtle contrast line along the handle edges. At 4.37oz, the knife feels light and well-balanced for extended use.
Carry
The Freyja ships with a leather sheath, offering a traditional snug fit and belt carry. As a fixed blade the tang and handle form a single solid unit, with the leather sheath providing secure retention and quick access.
