Darlington Edgecraft builds handmade fixed blade knives out of a woman-owned shop run by maker Carley Perkins. She came up as a welder before transitioning to bladesmithing, apprenticing under Andy Roy at Fiddleback Forge. That training shows in everything she builds—clean grinds, solid heat treat, handles that actually fit your hand.
Carley runs A2 tool steel on her blades. A2 is a tough carbon steel that handles hard use and sharpens easily in the field. The handle work is where these fixed blades stand out—curly maple, desert ironwood, burlap micarta, layered liners, and pin details that make each knife one of a kind.
Ergonomics get real attention here. These handles are shaped to feel natural across different hand sizes, not just built for the guy with XL gloves. Custom work is available if you want to spec out your own handle materials and details.
