The Freyja from Darlington Edgecraft is a handmade fixed blade built for collectors and users who appreciate fine materials and careful construction. This piece features a tapered A2 blade with a convex grind, paired with a Wenge handle accented by Forest and Lime G-10 pinstripes and black Micarta liners.
Blade
The 3.75" drop point blade is forged from A2 tool steel with a hammered finish and a tapered convex grind. A2 is prized among custom makers for its toughness and edge stability - it holds up well under lateral stress and resists chipping better than many high-carbon alternatives, while still being straightforward to resharpen in the field. The convex grind adds strength behind the edge and improves slicing performance.
Handle
The handle is crafted from Wenge, a dense, dark hardwood known for its tight grain and durability, set off by Forest and Lime G-10 pinstripes for visual contrast. Black Micarta liners - a linen and canvas fabric set in resin - add structural strength and a bit of contrast at the handle edges. At 4.62oz, the knife carries light for its size.
Carry
The Freyja ships with a leather sheath, offering traditional snap or friction retention for belt carry. As a fixed blade the tang and handle form one solid unit, giving the knife maximum strength for demanding cutting tasks.
Made in the USA.
