Blade

The 5.5" drop point blade is made from MagnaCut steel at 0.1875" thick, finished in a yellow Cerakote coating over the OD base. MagnaCut is a modern powder metallurgy steel praised for its balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance - it holds an edge longer than most traditional steels while remaining easy to sharpen. The Cerakote finish adds an extra layer of protection against moisture and wear. The drop point profile offers a strong tip and generous belly, useful for both detail work and heavier cutting tasks.

Handle

The handle is built from OD Micarta, a composite made from linen or canvas fabric layered with resin under heat and pressure. Micarta is prized for its durability, stable grip texture even when wet, and resistance to chipping or cracking. At 9.5oz, the knife has enough heft to handle chopping and batoning without feeling unwieldy.

Carry

The Mudpup 6 ships with a leather sheath, offering a traditional look and secure friction retention for belt carry. As a fixed blade, there is no lock mechanism - the full construction relies on a solid, one-piece build for strength and reliability in the field.
