The Mantis from Herman Knives is a modern take on the classic Bowie knife, built as a folding collector's piece for enthusiasts who want premium materials paired with a bold silhouette. This piece features a Nebula Ripple titanium handle and a mirror polished M398 blade.

Blade

The 3.70" blade is made from M398, a super steel from Bohler known for exceptional edge retention and high hardness, outperforming most standard stainless steels when it comes to holding an edge through extended use. The mirror polished finish shows off the Bowie-inspired profile while also highlighting the quality of the grind.

Handle

The handle is finished in a Nebula Ripple titanium pattern. Titanium is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant metal that holds up to daily carry without adding bulk - here the whole knife weighs just 4.59oz despite its 8.66" overall length.

Carry

A linerlock secures the blade open, using a spring-tensioned liner inside the handle that locks behind the blade tang and is pushed aside with the thumb to close. The pocket clip is set up for right-hand, tip-up carry only.
