The Ovium Gen 2 from Herman Knives is a complete reimagining of the original Ovium, built for collectors and enthusiasts who want a high-performance folder with a distinctive silhouette. Designer Bartosz Herman set out to fit a large, practical blade into a compact handle without sacrificing ergonomics, and the result is a knife that stays balanced and comfortable in hand despite its substantial cutting edge.

Blade

The 4.06" blade is made from M398, a super-premium powder steel known for extremely high edge retention and strong corrosion resistance, making it a top choice for collectors who want minimal maintenance between sharpenings. At 0.1299" thick, the blade carries a very shiny stonewash finish that hides handling marks while adding visual depth.

Handle

The handle is machined titanium, a lightweight and corrosion-resistant metal prized for its strength-to-weight ratio. This example features a purple backspacer for contrast against the titanium. Overall weight comes in at 5.32oz, keeping the knife substantial without feeling heavy in the pocket.

Carry

A linerlock secures the blade open, using a spring-loaded liner that moves into place behind the blade tang. It is simple to operate one-handed and easy to disengage with the thumb. The pocket clip is positioned for right-hand, tip-up carry only.
