The Hogue Ballista brings Hogue's firearms-grade manufacturing to a rapid deployment folder designed by Allen Elishewitz. Push-button activation fires the blade open with authority, and Hogue's blade retention system keeps fingers clear of the edge during both deployment and closure. A manual safety locks the knife in open and closed positions, and the button lock is set into recessed stainless steel bolster plates for a clean, snag-free profile.
The Ballista ships in three configurations to match carry preference. The Ballista II is the compact option at 2.6 inches of blade and 2.0 ounces — built for low-profile pocket carry. The Ballista I steps up to a 3.5-inch blade at 4.2 ounces for a more capable everyday platform. The Ballista XL pushes to 3.75 inches for users who want reach without moving to a fixed blade.
Blade steel varies by configuration with 154CM, CPM MagnaCut, and S30V represented across the series. Every blade is cryogenically heat treated and hand-honed. Frames are CNC-milled from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum with hard anodized finishes in black, blue, or gray. Insert options include G10, Ultem, and cocobolo. The ambidextrous deep-carry pocket clip rounds out a package that carries well regardless of hand dominance.
Every Ballista is manufactured at Hogue's facility in Henderson, Nevada.
