The Hogue Fray is a compact fixed blade built for durability and a secure grip in field or everyday carry conditions. Its tanto blade shape and partially serrated edge make it suited for users who want a rugged, no-nonsense cutting tool.

Blade

The 4.2" tanto blade is made from 154CM steel with a Black Cerakote finish. 154CM is a stainless steel known for good edge retention and solid corrosion resistance, making it easy to maintain. The Cerakote coating adds further protection against rust and wear while reducing glare. The tanto profile offers a strong, reinforced tip well-suited to piercing and hard use, and the partial serrations add extra cutting capability on tough or fibrous materials.

Handle

The handle is OverMolded Rubber, a synthetic material bonded directly over the tang for a comfortable, non-slip grip even in wet conditions. At 5.4oz, the knife stays lightweight while maintaining a solid, secure feel in hand.

Carry

The Fray ships with an automatic retention sheath that secures the blade with a positive locking mechanism, releasing it cleanly when drawn. As a fixed blade, there is no folding lock to speak of - the tang runs the length of the handle for added strength. The sheath allows for easy attachment to a belt or gear setup for quick access.
