The Medford FUK, short for Fighting Utility Knife, is a compact CPM 3V fixed blade from Medford Knife & Tool, made in Phoenix, Arizona. The double meaning in the name is on purpose, and so is the design: it pairs everyday utility with close quarters fighting ability in a knife small enough to carry daily.
The FUK borrows the angled blade to handle layout of Indonesian and Malaysian knives. That angle suits reverse grip cutting and trapping in close quarters, which makes the FUK a strong tactical knife as well as a capable utility blade for daily chores.
The Pro Series FUK runs a 3.3 inch tumbled CPM 3V blade on 0.150 inch stock, 7.8 inches overall, and weighs 5.78 ounces with a G-10 handle. It comes in black, coyote tan, and OD green. CPM 3V brings tool steel toughness to a small blade, and our knife steel guide shows how it compares. The same pattern in 1095 with a leather sheath is the 1881 Knifeworks FUK. Other compact Medford fixed blades include the Emperor and Micro Tanto.
