The Medford Smooth Criminal is a compact button lock flipper from Medford Knife & Tool, made in Phoenix, Arizona. It was Medford's first knife with a hard anodized aluminum chassis and a button lock, and it now comes in full titanium as well, all with the snappy action and American build Medford is known for.
The aluminum Smooth Criminal comes in black, blue, green, and red, plus flat ground S45VN versions in yellow and more. The Smooth Criminal Ti upgrades to full titanium for extra heft and durability at 4.94 ounces, in DLC, blue, bronze, or tumbled titanium. The button lock makes one handed opening and closing easy, which suits everyday precision cutting.
Every Smooth Criminal runs a 3 inch blade on 0.15 inch stock, 4 inches closed and 7 inches open, with a right hand tip up clip. Blades come in S35VN or flat ground S45VN with tumbled or DLC finishes, compared in our knife steel guide. This page also carries the Praetorian Swift tanto, Medford's aluminum framed automatic.
