The Medford Praetorian is the most iconic knife Greg Medford makes, the overbuilt titanium folder that defined Medford Knife & Tool. Every Praetorian is made in Phoenix, Arizona, and the series now spans full size and micro frame locks, slim and aluminum variations, G-10 builds, and an automatic, in drop point and tanto blades across a deep range of colors, sculpting, and hardware.
The Praetorian T is the full titanium folding knife at the heart of the line, a 3.75 inch blade on 0.19 inch stock with a frame lock, 9.3 ounces in hand, and offered in left hand builds. The Genesis T trims the blade to 3.3 inches, and the Micro Praetorian T is two thirds the size of the T with the same blade and scale thickness, in drop point or tanto.
The Praetorian Slim crosses Praetorian styling with the thin frame of the Slim Midi for a 3.7 ounce titanium frame lock. The Praetorian Swift is the automatic version, with hard anodized 6061 aluminum handles and titanium hardware, and the Swift FL is its manual flipper, with an aluminum front and a titanium frame lock side.
The Praetorian G/T keeps the full size frame lock but puts G-10 on the show side and titanium on the lock side. The Praetorian Scout M/P is Medford's production oriented take, a D2 tanto on a titanium liner lock with G-10 scales.
Praetorian blades run D2, S35VN, S45VN, CPM 3V, MagnaCut, and S90V depending on the model and finish, all compared in our knife steel guide. The Praetorian also inspired Medford's Emperor fixed blade and the Praetorian tanto in the Merc-1 OTF.
