Medford Primus - Tumbled Tanto 3V - OS Bronze Titanium - Flamed Hardware & Clip

When Greg Medford walked the Primus drawings into his own machine shop, his engineers looked at him and asked if he was serious. He was. This is that knife, the new flagship of Medford Knife & Tool, machined the inefficient way on purpose, and dressed here in one of its warmest configurations, OS Bronze titanium handles under a flamed hardware set and matching flamed clip. The bronze-on-fire pairing shifts in the light the way the knife itself was designed to, every facet of the frame catching and reflecting the facets around it.

Blade: The tanto blade runs 3.85" of tumbled CPM 3V on .260" stock, a quarter inch plus of American tool steel. 3V trades a little of stainless steel's corrosion resistance for an enormous surplus of toughness, shrugging off the impacts, torque, and tip work that retire lesser blades, and the tanto grind puts a reinforced point on the end of it. Between the steel, the stock, and the geometry, this is as close to a folding pry-capable blade as production knifemaking gets.

Lock & Handle: The OS Bronze anodized 6AL-4V titanium frame carries Medford's heavy frame lock and the three-facet handle architecture that defines the Primus, finished with a sculpted titanium backstrap along the spine. Lockup is exactly what a 9.52 ounce all-titanium Medford promises, vault-like.

Carry: The flamed titanium clip follows the facet lines of the handle and carries Greg Medford's signature in place of a billboard logo, mounted right hand, tip up. The breaker at the butt end balances the blade-forward mass, houses the lanyard hole, and finishes in a striking point.
