When Morakniv finally built a true full tang knife, the Garberg is what came off the line, and it has been the flagship of the Morakniv stable ever since. The tang runs the full width and length of the handle and peeks out past the pommel, backing a 4.3 inch Scandi-ground blade in 3.2mm stock, nine inches overall and still well under ten ounces. The spine is ground square to throw sparks off a ferro rod, which tells you exactly what this knife was built for. The rest of the Morakniv lineup covers the specialists; the Garberg is the one you hand somebody who only gets to carry one. Mora Garberg Carbon vs Stainless Steel
The Garberg comes in carbon steel or Sandvik 14C28N stainless, and the split follows the usual logic. Carbon takes the keenest edge, touches up quickly in the field, and comes in a BlackBlade version with a thin coating that fights rust and kills glare. The 14C28N stainless trades a little of that field-sharpening ease for edge retention and weatherproofing that suits wet climates and low-maintenance carry. Mora Garberg Sheath Options
How you carry it matters almost as much as the steel. The Multi-Mount ships with a MOLLE-compatible mounting plate that bolts or straps the polymer sheath to a pack, canoe, ATV, or workshop wall. The leather sheath is the traditional belt-carry pick and wears in beautifully, while the plain polymer sheath keeps things light and scrubbable. It is the same knife in every case, so choose by how you actually carry.
