The Pro-Tech Mordax is the Malibu's bigger sibling. Designed in collaboration with Ferrum Forge Knife Works and Elliot Williamson, it takes the same button lock flipper platform and scales it up to a 3.75-inch blade. More knife, same action quality.
The Mordax runs Pro-Tech's tuned button lock detent system — the same mechanism that made the Malibu one of the most talked-about production knives in recent years. This is the first flipper to use that system at a larger scale. Deployment is smooth on bearings, the drop-shut close is clean, and the button lock provides solid lockup with one-handed operation throughout.
The blade is CPM MagnaCut in a drop point grind. MagnaCut delivers strong edge retention and corrosion resistance in a steel that's tough enough for hard use without chipping out. At 3.8 ounces with a slim profile and deep-carry clip, the Mordax carries well for a knife this size.
Every Mordax is assembled and hand-fitted in Pro-Tech's facility in Artesia, California. Aluminum handles are available in multiple configurations — black, blue anodized, and textured options including the honeycomb pattern that adds grip without being aggressive on the hand.
The Mordax fills the gap for anyone who liked the Malibu but wanted more blade length or a fuller grip. If the Malibu felt a little small in your hand, this is the one.
