Reate EXO Performance
The Reate EXO Performance is the twin blade member of the EXO family, and the only knife in the lineup that ships as two knives in one. A single milled aluminum frame houses a pair of 3.1 inch Nitro-V blades, one plain edged and stonewashed, one fully serrated in satin, and both deploy out the front of the handle so you choose the edge for the task at hand.
What Makes the Reate EXO Performance Different
The rest of the EXO series varies size and blade geometry around a single blade; the Performance varies the edge itself. The plain stonewashed blade handles clean everyday cutting, while the fully serrated blade takes on rope, webbing, zip ties, and the fibrous material that dulls a fine edge fast. Running the serrations through the rough jobs keeps the plain edge fresh, which is the practical case for carrying both. Like its siblings, the Performance runs spring free, the deployment that put the series in a different lane from conventional OTF knives, and it is machined to the same tolerances as the titanium models.
Reate EXO Performance Specs and Nitro-V Steel
Both blades run Nitro-V hardened to 60 HRC, a nitrogen alloyed stainless that trades a little of the exotic steels' edge retention for toughness, corrosion resistance, and fast resharpening, which is the right call on a knife meant to be used without ceremony. Stock is 0.118 inch, overall length runs 7.6 inches on a 4.5 inch closed length, and weight lands at 4.58 ounces with a black PVD coated stainless steel clip handling carry. Handles are machined aluminum in diamond and stripe milling patterns, each offered in purple, tan, green, blue, and black.
