Reate VK-CLU
The Reate VK-CLU is the bigger half of the Vulpex line, the VK series Reate builds with Vulpex Knives and designer Steven Kempa: a 3.5-inch Elmax blade over titanium at 5.08 ounces, with the dressiest hardware of the collaboration. Where the ANUB stays minimal, the CLU brings zirconium and crystalized finishes to the party.
Reate Vulpex VK-CLU Elmax Liner Lock
The blade runs Bohler Elmax on 0.135-inch stock, the balanced powder stainless the whole VK line standardizes on, with strong edge retention and easy maintenance for a knife that's meant to be used as much as admired. Lockup is a titanium liner lock per DLT's own sheets, and like its stablemate the CLU carries a reversible tip-up clip, keeping the Vulpex line genuinely ambidextrous in a catalog that mostly isn't. It runs 7.75 inches overall on a 4.25-inch handle.
Crystalized, DLC, and Zirconium Titanium Builds
The four builds work the finish spectrum. Two run crystalized gray titanium, one as a patterned two-tone under a hand rubbed acid wash blade and one paired with bead blasted titanium under straight hand rubbed satin. The blacked-out version sets polished zirconium hardware against black DLC titanium with a frosted satin DLC blade, and the darkwashed build matches its blade and frame with bead blasted zirconium hardware as the accent.
VK-CLU vs VK-ANUB
The Vulpex fork is size and dress level. The Reate VK-ANUB is the light carry at 3.15 inches and 3.35 ounces on a frame lock, all dark finishes and no jewelry, while the CLU stretches to 3.5 inches and 5.08 ounces on a liner lock and spends the difference on zirconium and crystalized titanium. Same steel, same Kempa design language, same reversible clip: the ANUB disappears into a pocket, the CLU comes out of one looking like the collaboration's flagship.
