Hinderer Eklipse
The Hinderer Eklipse first appeared in 2014 as a scarce, sculpted alternative to the XM line, and it became the base design for the Zero Tolerance 0392, the first of ZT's factory customs, built with hardware straight from Rick Hinderer's shop. Today's Eklipse is a 3.5 inch titanium frame lock made in the USA, and it is the most carry friendly shape among Rick Hinderer knives.
Hinderer Eklipse vs XM-18
Both run a 3.5 inch blade at 8.25 inches open with a titanium frame lock, Lockbar Stabilizer, and Tri-Way Pivot, so the choice comes down to shape. The Hinderer XM-18 3.5 is angular and all business, while the Eklipse runs a narrower, more rounded handle with a flipper guard that rides flatter in the pocket and fills more hand positions. That narrow profile is what made the ZT 0392 collaboration a favorite among Zero Tolerance collectors.
Eklipse Skinny Fullered Harpoon Blades
Most of the current Eklipse lineup is the Skinny build, which trims blade and lockside stock to 0.140 inch for a lighter, slicier knife. The fullered harpoon spanto and fullered harpoon spear run CPM MagnaCut, a stainless that pairs high toughness with outstanding corrosion resistance, in flipper builds that open by tab or thumb studs and non flipper builds on thumb studs alone. S45VN Spear Point, Slicer, and Eklipse Auto
For full 0.165 inch stock, the Eklipse also comes as a CPM S45VN spear point or hollow ground slicer, the slicer's thin edge built for clean cuts. The Eklipse Auto moves the same spear point to a titanium handle with a push button, making it the only automatic in the family and a standout among our side opening automatic knives. Every Eklipse carries a right hand clip for tip up or tip down carry.
