5160 Fixed Blade with Micarta Handles

The Shade Indonesia Ronin is a katana-inspired fixed blade built for those who want serious length and cutting power in a hand-forged package. With a 30-inch overall length, this is a large-format blade suited to heavy cutting and batoning work rather than everyday carry.

Blade

The 17-inch blade is hand forged from 5160 steel at 0.250" thick, finished in Darkwash Brute de Forge. 5160 is a spring steel prized for toughness and shock resistance, making it well suited to repeated heavy strikes without chipping. The Brut-de-Forge finish leaves the forging texture visible, giving each blade a rugged, individual character straight from the hammer.

Handle

The handle is wrapped in Micarta, a resin-impregnated linen and canvas composite known for its durability and secure grip even when wet. At 13 inches long and 1 inch thick, it provides ample room for a two-handed grip. Total weight comes in at 43.75oz, giving the blade substantial momentum through a cut.

Carry

This fixed blade features full tang construction, with the tang running the complete length of the handle for maximum strength. It ships with a leather sheath for storage and transport between uses.
