The Shade Indonesia Ronin is a katana-inspired fixed blade built for those who want a large-format cutting tool with real heft behind it. Hand forged rather than stock-removed, this piece is suited to collectors and hard-use enthusiasts who want a sword-length blade that can take on heavy cutting and repeated impact.
Blade
The blade measures 17" long and 0.250" thick, forged from 5160 steel. 5160 is a spring steel long used in swords and machetes for its toughness and resistance to chipping under repeated impact - it flexes and absorbs shock rather than cracking. The Darkwash Brute de Forge finish leaves the hammer-forged texture visible on the blade face while the edge is satin finished, showing off the hand-forging process rather than hiding it.
Handle
The handle is Micarta, a resin-impregnated linen or canvas material valued for its durability and secure grip even when wet. It measures 13" long and 1" thick, giving plenty of room for a two-handed grip. Overall weight comes in at 43.75oz, with the balance built for sustained, controlled swings.
Carry
The Ronin ships with a leather sheath sized for its 30" overall length. This is a fixed, full-tang blade - the tang runs the full length of the handle for maximum strength. The sheath is built for secure storage and easy draw rather than daily concealed carry, given the size of the blade.
