The Shade Indonesia Ronin is a katana-inspired fixed blade built for those who train hard and want a blade that performs under real stress. This is a long-blade cutting tool suited for heavy chopping, batoning, and repeated hard use rather than a display piece.
Blade
The 17" blade is hand forged from 5160 steel at 0.250" thick, finished in Darkwash Brute de Forge. 5160 is a spring steel prized for its toughness and shock resistance, making it a common choice for large blades that need to survive repeated impact without chipping or snapping. The Brut-de-Forge finish leaves the hammer-forged texture visible, showing the hand work behind each blade.
Handle
The handle is rosewood, a dense hardwood valued for its strength and natural grain. It measures 13" long and 1" thick, giving plenty of room for a two-handed grip on this 30" overall knife. At 43.75oz, this is a substantial blade meant to carry momentum through heavy cuts.
Carry
The Ronin ships with a leather sheath sized for its 17" blade. This is a fixed blade - the full tang construction runs the length of the handle for maximum strength. The sheath is built for secure storage and carry given the size and weight of this piece.
