Spartan Blades Astor
The Astor is a collaboration between Spartan Blades and renowned knife maker Les George. It won the 2021 Blade Show "Imported Knife of the Year" award—recognition that validated its design philosophy as a genuine working folder rather than a show piece.
The 3.5-inch drop point blade is flat ground from CTS-XHP steel at 58-60 HRC, delivering strong edge retention and corrosion resistance for daily hard use. The tumbled finish adds a worn-in aesthetic while masking the inevitable signs of a knife that gets used. At 8.25 inches overall and just over 5 ounces, it's a full-size EDC folder built to handle demanding tasks.
Les George engineered the Astor around Spartan's Oil Infused Bronze Bushing System (OIBBS). The bushings are impregnated with oil, providing smooth blade deployment without requiring a loose pivot—solving a common compromise in folding knife design. The thick liner lock adds durability for heavy-duty applications.
Ambidextrous features include dual thumb studs and a reversible deep carry pocket clip. Handle options include OD green G-10 or carbon fiber G-10 composite, both offering secure grip and lightweight strength. Designed in the USA.
