Spartan Blades Moros
The Spartan Blades Moros is a fighter and combat utility fixed blade designed by co-founder Curtis Iovito, a former Green Beret. Spartan Blades built it in the US as an all-around knife for the field, self-defense, or a bug-out bag. The name comes from Greek myth, where Moros personified impending doom.
Spartan Blades Moros Specs
The Moros carries a 5.25 inch spear point on 0.188 inch stock, with a full tang. It runs 10 inches overall and weighs about 7.2 ounces. The flat ground main bevel ends just past the midpoint, and a tapered top swedge runs most of the spine. That gives you a narrow, penetrating tip that stays strong, with plenty of edge for cutting. The neutral balance makes it feel lighter in the hand than it is.
S45VN Blade Steel and Coatings
The Moros builds on our shelf run cryo-treated CPM S45VN at 59 to 61 HRC under SpartaCoat Tungsten DLC in black or flat dark earth. Canvas Micarta Handle and Sheaths
The 3D machined CE canvas Micarta handle comes in black or green and grips securely wet or dry. Our builds ship in black or tan Kydex for belt carry, or in black or tan nylon with MOLLE webbing for tactical gear. Spartan includes a paracord lanyard with a Spartan helmet bead.
Moros vs Ares and Horkos
The Moros sits between two other Spartan fighters. The Ares trades the spear point for a 5.375 inch MagnaCut drop point with more belly, a touch lighter at about 6.75 ounces. The Horkos steps up to a 5.6875 inch MagnaCut drop point at about 9 ounces. Pick the Moros when penetration and low weight lead the list.
