The Ronin Shoto is a karambit-style liner lock folder designed by Curtis Iovito and Tu Lam, former U.S. Army Special Forces operator and owner of Ronin Tactics. The 2.5-inch tanto blade is ground from 154CM stainless steel at 58-60 HRC with a satin black titanium nitride coating for corrosion protection and reduced glare. The patented Emerson Wave feature enables rapid one-handed deployment by hooking the blade on a pocket edge during the draw. The Oil Infused Bronze Bushing System (OIBBS) provides smooth, consistent action with long-term reliability.
Lam's martial arts expertise informed the curved handle geometry and finger retention design. The textured black and red G-10 scales provide secure grip during dynamic use. At 7.75 inches overall and 6.25 ounces, the Shoto balances karambit-style control with practical everyday carry dimensions. The reversible pocket clip accommodates left- or right-hand carry preferences.
Made in the USA.
"Shoto" refers to the shorter of two swords carried by samurai—the companion blade to the longer katana. In traditional Japanese martial arts, the shoto served as a backup weapon and close-quarters tool. It's a fitting name for a compact folder designed as a reliable secondary blade for defensive applications.
