This is the standard black G-10 build of the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, model C81GP2. It carries the plain edge CPM S45VN blade, black textured G-10 scales, and the Compression Lock that made the platform famous. Blade

The 3.44 inch clip point blade runs a full flat grind on 0.14 inch stock with a 3.08 inch cutting edge, thin enough behind the edge to slice cardboard and rope with little drag. CPM S45VN is Crucible's update to S35VN, with more chromium and niobium for better corrosion resistance and edge retention while staying easy to touch up at home. Lock

The Compression Lock wedges a leaf spring between the blade tang and the stop pin, which gives the PM2 strong lockup without a liner crossing the blade path. Handle

Black G-10 scales sit over nested stainless liners with an open back for easy cleaning. The handle narrows at the butt, and jimping on the spine and finger choil locks in a choked up grip for detail work. The PM2 is also the most customized folder going, and Flytanium titanium and carbon fiber scales bolt on in place of the factory G-10.

Carry

At 4.81 inches closed and 3.75 ounces, the PM2 carries like a full size working knife. The four position clip sets up tip up or tip down on either side, so left handers get the same carry as everyone else. If you want the same lock in a smaller frame, the Para 3 is the move, and the MagnaCut Salt Series version is built for wet work. Every PM2 is made in Golden, Colorado.
