Spyderco Shaman
The Spyderco Shaman is a full-size, hard-use folding knife built on the ergonomic DNA of the Spyderco Native, scaled up roughly twenty percent for users who need more blade and more handle in hand. Sculpted G-10 scales, a textured thumb ramp, and a forward finger choil give it two distinct grip positions, and the four-position clip covers nearly any carry preference. Spyderco Shaman Blade Steels
The Shaman's 3.58-inch, full-flat-ground blade runs a leaf-shaped profile with more belly than the Native, tuned for slicing through cordage, cardboard, and field tasks while keeping an acute tip for detail work. Standard production models ship in CPM S30V, a proven stainless that balances edge retention, toughness, and easy field sharpening. Limited runs have pushed the platform much further, with blades in CruWear, MagnaCut, M390, S90V, CPM 15V, 20CV, and SPY27 appearing across sprint runs and dealer exclusives. Shaman Salt in CPM MagnaCut
The newest branch of the family is the Shaman Salt, the workhorse design inducted into Spyderco's Salt Series of corrosion-resistant cutting tools. It pairs a DLC-coated CPM MagnaCut blade with black G-10 machined in Spyderco's Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture and ultra-corrosion-resistant hardware, purpose-built for use in and around the water without giving up the Shaman's cutting power.
Shaman Lightweight
The Shaman Lightweight trims weight and cost from the standard model with injection-molded FRN scales while preserving the blade geometry and lock that made the original a favorite. For users who carry a Shaman daily rather than shelve it, the Lightweight is the easiest version to live with in the pocket.
The Shaman's Compression Lock
Like the Paramilitary 2 and Para 3, the Shaman runs Spyderco's patented Compression Lock. A leaf spring wedges between the blade tang and stop pin, producing lock strength that exceeds most liner locks under lateral stress, and closing keeps the hand completely clear of the blade path.
