Terrain 365 knives are built around one idea: a blade that cannot rust. Custom maker and ABS Master Smith Michael Vagnino launched the brand with Patrick Ma, founder of Prometheus Design Werx, around Terravantium, a proprietary dendritic cobalt alloy with no iron in it at all. No iron means no rust, no pitting, and a nonmagnetic blade, whether it lives in a tackle box, a dive bag, or a sweaty jungle pocket.
Terravantium is an investment cast cobalt and carbide alloy that is never rolled, which preserves its natural crystalline carbide structure. The result is a very toothy edge that keeps biting long after it feels dull, plus total immunity to rust. The trade is that cobalt takes impacts less gracefully than a tough steel, so treat it as a slicer, not a pry bar. Terrain 365 builds the rest of each knife to match, with titanium hardware, ceramic bearings in brass or bronze cages, and ceramic ball detents, so nothing on the knife can corrode.
The Otter Flip-ATB is the compact framelock flipper, with AT for All Terrain and B for its integrated bolster construction, in carbon fiber, Fat Carbon, or Ultem scales. The Narwhal is the sleek, low profile flipper with fullers and Hyperglow pivot rings. The Invictus-AT carries the Prometheus Design Werx Invictus design in carbon fiber or OD green G10, and the Mako-AT packs a 3.125 inch blade into a 3.1 ounce titanium framelock, all ready to rotate into your folding knife carry.
Terrain 365 brings the same chemistry to traditional patterns. The Caiman is a modern titanium Barlow with a 3 inch Terravantium clip point, and the Otter Slip Flip puts the Otter's spear point on a non locking slipjoint for friendly carry.
For boat crews, anglers, divers, and anyone carrying in humid country, Terravantium takes rust out of the conversation, with no oiling or wiping. Give it a fresh water rinse after salt so the pivot stays smooth. The production folders here are made in China. If you want a saltwater folder in conventional steel, the Spyderco Salt Series runs H-1, LC200N, and MagnaCut.
