Alabama Damascus Fixed Blade with Micarta Handles

The Hacksaw Jim is a custom fixed blade from Dan Tope Knives, built for collectors and outdoor users who want a hand-forged knife with real character. Each one carries the natural variation of hand-forged Damascus, making every piece unique.

Blade

The 4.5" clip point blade is forged from Alabama Damascus at 0.229" thick. Damascus steel is created by folding and forge-welding multiple layers of steel together, producing a distinctive pattern along the blade while delivering a good balance of edge retention and toughness. The clip point profile gives the tip extra control for detail work while keeping plenty of belly for general cutting tasks.

Handle

The handle is natural canvas Micarta with black liners and pins. Micarta is made by compressing layers of canvas fabric with resin under heat and pressure, resulting in a dense, durable material that holds up well to field use and offers a secure grip even in wet conditions. At 7.2oz with a 4.75" handle length, it fills the hand comfortably for extended use.

Carry

The Hacksaw Jim ships with a black leather sheath built for belt carry. As a full tang fixed blade, there's no lock mechanism involved - the tang runs the complete length of the handle for maximum strength, and the leather sheath keeps the blade secure and protected when not in use.
