Blade

The 3.25" tanto blade is made from S45VN steel with a blackwash finish and a high flat grind. S45VN is a modern powder metallurgy steel that offers strong edge retention, good toughness, and solid corrosion resistance, making it a dependable choice for hard daily use. The tanto shape adds strength near the tip for tougher cutting tasks.

Handle

Black G-10 handle scales cover skeletonized titanium liners underneath, and features a red backspacer. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate that's lightweight, rigid, and grippy even in wet conditions. The skeletonized liners cut extra weight while keeping the frame stiff, bringing the whole knife to just 3.8oz.

Carry

The Avid 3 runs on a titanium liner lock with a steel lockbar insert, which adds durability and resists wear better than a standard titanium lock face. It opens smoothly on caged ceramic bearings with a ceramic detent ball. The ambidextrous wire clip supports tip-up carry on either side, so it works equally well for left and right-handed users.
