Designed by Jason Tietz, the White River Firecraft FC-PKO is a puukko-inspired design. It has a
traditional Scandi grind edge that’s perfect for woodcraft. If you look close at the spine, you’ll
see a slight notch or dip. That’s used for striking a ferrocerium rod to generate sparks and make
fire. They’ve even included a ferro rod with the knife. It also features a polished stainless-steel
divot on the handle. This is for use with a bow drill for fire making, in case you want to go that
route.
The White River Firecraft FC-PKO has a 3.7-inch blade and stretches 8.1 inches overall. The
premium stainless steel has been hardened to 58-60 RC. At the spine, it’s 0.125-inch thick and the knife
weighs 4.6 ounces. The Micarta handle scales are nearly bulletproof. The FC-PKO locks
securely into its Kydex sheath.
The Firecraft FC-PKO makes for a great EDC option, particularly if you’re looking for a knife
that’s well-suited for the outdoors. Adjust the sheath however you’d like for a comfortable carry.
