Ambush Knives is our own line of American made fixed blades, built on the premise that a working knife should ship with a sheath worth carrying it in. The range runs from neck carry blades under two ounces up through full size field knives in CPM 3V, with a leather and Kydex catalog cut to each individual pattern rather than to a generic size bracket.
The Sidekick is the small one, 6.5625 inches overall on a 3.125 inch blade at .156 stock and 1.8 ounces, which is light enough to forget around your neck and thick enough to not feel like a toy. It comes either skeletonized or with paracord for a wrap you tie yourself. The Sentry runs shorter at 6.625 overall with a 2.75 inch blade on thinner .125 stock, which makes it the better slicer of the two. Both use Bohler Elmax, a powder stainless that holds a working edge about as long as anything in its price class and shrugs off moisture in a way carbon steel never will. The Alpha is the big one at 10.5 inches overall with a 5.125 inch blade, 1.25 inches of height, and .187 stock in CPM 3V. That combination is built for chopping and batoning rather than detail work, and 3V is the steel you pick when you expect the edge to meet bone, knots, or frozen wood and want it to roll rather than chip. The Brute and Tundra fill the range between the neck knives and the Alpha, covering general camp and field work where a five inch blade is more knife than the job needs.
Sheaths are cut to individual models, so an Alpha carrier will not hold a Brute properly. Alpha, Brute, Tundra, and Sentry are covered in brown and black with right and left hand draw on most patterns, which is worth confirming before you order since a reversed sheath is the most common replacement mistake. Extended edge protection builds suit taller grinds and blades that have crept up in height from resharpening. The Buckhorn and Killdeer pocket sheaths drop the smaller patterns into a front pocket, and the Bushcraft AP sheath adds a pouch for a firesteel or small kit.
