Benchmade Mini Bugout 533
The Benchmade Mini Bugout 533 takes the full size Bugout 535 and shrinks it to a 2.82 inch drop point, 6.49 inches open and 3.7 closed, at about 1.5 ounces, without cheaping out on steel or the lock. It uses the same .09 inch blade stock, the same ambidextrous AXIS Lock and thumb studs, and the same reversible tip up clip. The result is a real knife that rides in a coin pocket, on a keychain, or in a first aid kit. Every Mini Bugout is made in Oregon City and backed by Benchmade lifetime LifeSharp service.
Mini Bugout Blade Steels
Most Mini Bugouts run CPM S30V, a proven stainless that sharpens without a fight and handles boxes, cordage, and food prep, in satin or black DLC. The carbon fiber 533-3 and the Woodland Green aluminum 533SL-10 step up to CPM S90V, a high vanadium steel that goes much longer between sharpenings but takes more time on the stones when it does. Mini Bugout Handle Options
The standard 533 wears Grivory, a light glass filled polymer, in orange, black, and Daybreak Yellow. The 533BK-2 moves to CF-Elite, a carbon reinforced polymer with a carbon look and added stiffness. The 533SL-10 swaps in Woodland Green aluminum with a Cerakote blade for a more solid feel, and the 533-3 is the premium build with milled carbon fiber scales.
Custom Mini Bugout Scales
Few folders have the aftermarket the Mini Bugout does, and we stock it right next to the knives. AWT makes contoured aluminum scales in blue, burnt bronze, OD green, Magpul FDE, and armor black, and Flytanium offers brass, copper, carbon fiber, and titanium. A scale swap changes the weight and feel without touching the blade or the lock, which is why so many owners end up with more than one set.
