AWT scales are aftermarket aluminum knife scales from Applied Weapons Tech, designed and milled in Texas on HAAS CNC machines. A disabled OEF veteran founded the company, and since 2020 it has been run by a new owner in Texas. AWT still builds replacement scales that turn lightweight production folders into knives that feel planted in the hand. Every set is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in Mil-Spec Type III hard coat anodizing.
The Archon series Bugout scales fit the Grivory, aluminum, or G-10 Benchmade Bugout, and AWT also makes a Bugout scale with a lanyard hole. Archon Mini Bugout scales fit the Mini Bugout. Smooth Mini Adamas scales slim the Mini Adamas handle, dropping scale thickness from 0.158 to 0.130 inch. The Mini Freek grip kit takes the Mini Freek from 0.575 to 0.500 inch thick and includes a backspacer and hardware.
Aluminum adds rigidity and a little heft that balances a light folder. On the Mini Adamas, smooth scales add only about 0.2 ounce over stock. The Archon contoured surface gives a scalloped grip, removes hot spots, and opens up access to the AXIS lock. Its holes are drilled for left or right tip up carry, and a Lynch Northwest Benchmade clip finishes the build. AWT supplies its hardware through Knives Plus.
The Pocket Pry Tool Gen 2 is a 2.91 inch, 0.5 ounce aluminum pry bar with a bottle opener, quarter inch hex driver, nail puller, package opener, and standard and metric rulers. Gen 2 tools are tumbled before anodizing for rounder edges, and they come in colors like Solar Orange and Weathered Red.
AWT backs its scales and tools with a lifetime warranty: break one and they replace it at no cost. Before swapping scales, know that Benchmade's warranty doesn't cover disassembly by anyone other than Benchmade's warranty department.
