Bestech Knives spent a decade running OEM production for other companies before putting its own name on a blade. That order matters. By the time Bestech launched its own catalog, the CNC capability, the heat treat process, and the quality control were already built and already proven against other brands' specifications. What changed was who got to decide the designs.
Bestech runs an in-house design team and pairs it with an unusually deep bench of outside designers. Ostap Hel drew the Strelit, a folding push dagger that stops at half deployment and gives you a hawkbill in the palm. Grzegorz Grabarski, better known as Kombou, is behind the Mothus and a long list of others. James Lowe designed the Taipan front flipper and its Mini version. Tashi Bharucha, Keanu Alfaro, Frank Grissom, Poltergeistworks, Munko Knives, and Koenscraft all have models in the broader Bestech catalog. That roster is the whole strategy. Custom-level geometry, production-level pricing, and Bestech patents every model.
The titanium series is where this catalog lives now, and the steel selection has moved upmarket accordingly. MagnaCut runs the Taipan, Mini Taipan, Vestige, and Vulpex. The Senu goes to S90V for maximum edge retention. M390 covers the Mothus and Spear Phisher. Handles are milled titanium with anodizing, bead blasting, PVD, and stonewashing across the finish range, plus carbon fiber, Ultem, and micarta inlays. Bolstered options and acid etched Damascus show up on limited runs.
The other half of the line is 14C28N in machined G-10 and micarta. Sandvik's 14C28N is a genuinely good working stainless, easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant enough to ignore, and capable of a fine edge, which makes it the right steel for a knife you actually put through a week of boxes. Ceramic bearings and flipper action carry over from the titanium models. This is the entry point to the brand and it is not a compromised one.
Bestech also runs Bestechman as a separate value line, built around the same machining with more accessible materials. If the titanium models here are more knife than you need, that is the place to look. Otherwise, compare against the rest of our folding knives.
