Marfione Custom Knives is the custom division of Microtech Knives, run by founder Anthony "Tony" Marfione and his son Sean out of their North Carolina workshop. Since founding Microtech in 1994 out of a Vero Beach, Florida apartment, Tony Marfione has produced limited-run custom versions of popular Microtech models alongside original designs built entirely from scratch, and the father and son team hand grinds, hand finishes, and individually serializes every piece.
Marfione Custom uses a logo system to indicate production level. Knives bearing the claw logo are semi-custom pieces, upgraded versions of existing Microtech designs with hand-ground blades, exotic materials, and premium finishes. Knives bearing the dagger logo are fully custom builds that may run entirely different materials than the production line. Each ships in Marfione's carbon fiber style box with magnetic closure, a fleece-lined zippered pouch, a metal certificate of authenticity plate, and a logo cleaning cloth.
Our current allocation centers on the Custom Atreus D/E, built on Microtech's patented Zero Blade Play platform that eliminates all blade movement when deployed. Each wears a black anodized aluminum chassis inlaid with 30k carbon fiber and anodized titanium panels, a hand-finished M390MK dagger blade in mirror polish or DLC cryo finishes, and details down to the carbon fiber firing button. The broader custom OTF catalog rotates through upgraded Combat Troodons, Scarab IIs, Halos, UTX-70s, and Mini Troodons with Damascus from forges like Vegas Forge, Chad Nichols, and Devin Thomas, while the folder side features the Anax integral framelock, Tony Marfione's first design machined from a single piece of titanium.
Production runs are extremely limited, often between 10 and 50 pieces before a configuration changes. DLT receives Marfione Custom allocations directly from the Marfione workshop, and every knife is inspected and photographed before listing, so what you see is exactly what ships.
