The Large Sebenza 31 is the full-size version of the knife that set the standard for the production folder. Sebenza means "work" in Zulu, and Chris Reeve built it around one goal he never moved off of, the best working pocket knife that lasts a lifetime. Large Sebenza 31 Specs and Blade Options
The Large runs a 3.61 inch hollow-ground blade in stonewashed MagnaCut on a 6Al4V titanium frame, 8.40 inches overall at 4.7 ounces. That footprint is what makes it the pick for the field, for larger hands, and for gloved use over the Small. The classic drop point covers everything, the Insingo brings the wharncliffe-style edge that slices like nothing else in the lineup, and the tanto reinforces the tip for harder point work. The Sebenza 31 Ceramic Ball Lock
The 31 kept the clean lines and the feel that built the reputation, then updated what sits under the hood. The Reeve Integral Lock runs a ceramic ball against the blade tang, so engagement stays positive and repeatable where a standard frame lock wears over time. The locating hole is gone, the tolerances are tighter from updated machining, the clip is offset for a better grip, and the inlay pockets are wider so the handle materials carry the look. It still field strips with a single wrench, and it is still backed for the life of the knife from Boise, Idaho.
Large Sebenza or Small Sebenza
The Small Sebenza 31 is the same knife at 2.99 inches and three ounces, the easier everyday carry. The Large is the one made for real work, with the reach and the handle to lean on all day.
