The Bradford Guardian 4.2 MagnaCut is the follow-on to Bradford Knives' field-proven Guardian 4. Its defining change came from years of customer feedback: the 4.2 is built with or without a finger choil, so you set the grip to match how you actually work.
Same blade profile and handle footprint as the Guardian 4, but the configuration is your call. The choil build gives choked-up control and a built-in finger guard for hard tasks. The no-choil build frees a longer, uninterrupted edge for slicing and camp food prep. One platform, two grips.
Every build here runs CPM MagnaCut, the rare steel that pairs real toughness with full corrosion resistance, which is exactly what a hard-use blade wants in wet, dirty field conditions. Standard builds hold a tougher, more forgiving edge. The High Hardness builds run a hotter heat treat for a finer, longer-lasting apex, trading a little impact margin for stronger edge retention. Choose by how hard you run a blade and how often you sharpen.
3D contoured Micarta in Natural, Black, Green, OD Green, and Camo holds secure in wet or gloved hands. Chocolate Brown Richlite is dense, weatherproof, and warmer in the hand than synthetics. Microtextured Forest G-Wood and textured G-10 round out the range. Each knife ships with a vertical distressed leather sheath and plastic insert.
