The Hammer Down Forge Companion is a small, handmade fixed blade suited for detail work, whittling, and everyday carry tasks that call for a precise edge. Its compact size makes it an easy knife to carry all day without added bulk.

Blade

The 3.25" wharncliffe blade is forged from San Mai in Hitachi White steel, a layered construction that sandwiches a hard, fine-grained Hitachi White carbon steel core between softer outer layers. This gives the edge excellent sharpness and edge retention while the outer cladding adds flexibility and impact resistance. The wharncliffe profile has a straight edge and a sharply angled spine, making it well suited for controlled push cuts and detail work.

Handle

The handle pairs orange-hued maple wood with a Richlite bolster. Richlite is a durable, resin-infused paper composite that resembles hardwood but offers more resistance to moisture and wear. Together they create a lightweight, comfortable grip at just 3 ounces total weight.

Carry

The Companion comes with a brown leather sheath for belt or pocket carry, keeping the blade protected and accessible for quick daily use.
